Another port for thinking people…

10 times Billy refused to back down against all odds in “Someone, Someday”

Billy Cariño (Kathryn Bernardo) easily takes her place as one of the strongest characters in “Someone, Someday.” After losing her mother at a young age and being abandoned by her father, she grew into a successful independent woman and a devoted guardian for her brother, Oliver Cariño (Migz Casimiro).

Just as we thought her struggles were finally over, her father’s unknown past started affecting her life in ways she never expected. Witness Billy’s incredible strength in this Kapamilya Toplist, focusing on her toughest moments on the show.

#1: Billy nearly runs over her ex-fiancé Alvin

During Billy’s eagerly anticipated wedding day, no ceremony occurred since she found out that her ex-fiancé, Alvin (JC de Vera), made the choice to elope with his other woman, Gia (Arci Muñoz). Enraged, Billy almost ran over them, but it was her best friend Jordan (James Reid), who reminded her that they’re not worth the trouble.

#2: Billy recalls memories of her mother’s tragic death

One evening, Billy rushed Oliver to the nearest hospital after he suddenly collapsed in his room. As she waited for news, she was struck by the painful memory of her mother Olive’s (Iza Calzado) untimely death. Just before passing away, Olive had reminded Billy of her bravery and entrusted her with taking care of baby Oliver.

#3: Billy feels relieved after Oliver’s quick recovery

A few moments later, Oliver regained consciousness and gave Billy a thumbs-up to reassure her that he was okay. With her relief turning into tears, Jordan instantly comforted Billy and eventually accompanied them to the doctor in charge of Oliver.

#4: Billy stays strong following the attack against Jordan and LoveList

Following the hacking incident at LoveList and the troublesome Caloy (McCoy de Leon) hurting Jordan, Billy accepted Valerie’s (Daniela Stranner) suggestion to hold an interview that properly addressed the ongoing issues affecting the company. In her compelling speech, Billy announced that this setback wouldn’t stop LoveList from thriving and vowed to track down the mastermind responsible for the hacking.

#5: Billy proves to Bea that she doesn’t intend to give up

Shortly after Bea (Maja Salvador) stole the LoveFeast concept and brought it to Pebblng, her execution proved to be far inferior to Billy’s successful launch of “Happily Ever After” for LoveList. Soon enough, two women clashed again at LoveList’s afterparty that Bea had sneaked into. When Billy confronted her, Bea still refused to explain the root of her resentment—missing the chance for Billy to understand her perspective.

#6: Billy earns the respect and trust of CEO Talia

As the deceitful Bea got employed at Talia & Co., the company’s CEO, Talia, actually met with Billy to hatch a plan to uncover Bea’s schemes. At one point, Talia caught Bea conversing with Caloy over the phone, particularly after Billy was announced as the company’s next collaborator. A short time later, Caloy was finally arrested, and Bea underwent interrogation.

#7: Billy catches Bea spying outside the LoveList office

When her numerous attempts to sabotage Billy failed, Bea resorted to lurking outside the LoveList office to spy on Valerie and Marj (Gela Atayde). Unfortunately, Billy caught her right as she turned to leave. While Bea played the victim once more, Billy fired back with the comment that Bea should enjoy her remaining freedom before being imprisoned.

#8: Billy shuts down Enrico’s attempt to reconcile

Instead of spending a peaceful day at the park with Oliver and Jordan, Billy unexpectedly encountered her estranged father, Enrico (Rowell Santiago). In the past, Enrico abandoned their family, leaving Billy with all the trauma she had to endure alone while providing for Oliver. At this moment, Billy strongly refused to listen to Enrico’s pleas, expecting this to be their last meeting.

#9: Billy figures out who hacked the LoveLine records

LoveList faced another hacking incident when their confidential LoveLine records were nearly leaked online by an anonymous user. Through Jordan’s advanced security measures, he successfully saved the files from being completely exposed. While Billy was relieved, she couldn’t help but worry about the hacker’s identity, who turned out to be Peter (Rafael Rosell), their new investor blackmailed by Bea.

#10: Billy watches in agony as her house goes up in flames

Tough times never seemed to end for Billy as Bea’s mother, Mariela (Rita Avila), sneaked into their home and fought with Precious (Dimples Romana), whom she believed was Enrico’s mistress. Mariela managed to escape alone, leaving the house on fire behind her. While Enrico saved Precious and Oliver before being rushed to an ambulance, Billy was left trapped until Jordan rushed inside to rescue her.

Once she was outside, Billy could only watch in tearful silence as the house she was saving for burned away. Billy’s family then temporarily stayed at Charm’s (Majoy Apostol) residence, where the whole LoveList team made heartwarming efforts to make Billy smile again.

Let’s all hope for Billy’s happy ending in “Someone, Someday,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
