Pag-IBIG opens 2nd National Housing Expo, offers loans of up to P10 million
MANILA — The Pag-IBIG Fund on Monday opened the 2nd National Housing Expo 2026 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, to help more Filipino families acquire quality and affordable homes.
Running from October 19 to 20, the expo is part of the observance of National Shelter Month and supports the expanded 4PH housing program, which aims to widen access to affordable housing.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also made a brief visit to the expo, which was attended by Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Ramon Aliling.
The two-day event expects around 40,000 home seekers and features 80 participating developers.
The expo offers housing loan interest rates of 3 percent for socialized housing borrowers, a promotional rate of 4.5 percent for loans of up to P4.9 million, and a 5.75 percent promotional rate for loans of up to P10 million.
He said Pag-IBIG Fund remains committed to providing affordable housing loans to members across different income brackets.
Jacinto said applicants must be Pag-IBIG Fund members with active monthly savings and sufficient capacity to repay their loans. Interested members may also register online and undergo prequalification.
The housing program includes in-city condominiums and housing units.
“Ang utos ng ating Pangulo dapat ‘yung pabahay, dapat ‘yung units, hindi lamang affordable, hindi lamang quality, pero ito ay malapit sa paaralan, trabaho,” he said.
Home seekers can avail of socialized housing units priced at around P800,000, with a 32-square-meter house on a 30-square-meter lot and monthly payments of P2,900 over a 30-year payment period.
“Ang babayaran niya lang po is 10,000 pesos para sa processing fee and then ‘yung next bayad niya po is pag lilipat na siya,” said Adriane Cantor, CEO of the socialized housing group of a private developer.
“Ang sweldo ay dapat nasa above P14,000 ang sweldo, tapos magsa-submit lang siya ng proof of income, which is payslip and Cerificate of Employment,” he added.
Call center agent Eliza Villoria is hoping to purchase a socialized housing condominium unit in Cabuyao, Laguna, attracted by its price of below P1 million and a 3% interest rate.
She also aspires to own a home this year, especially for her three children.
Manifesting po na magkaroon ng sariling bahay,” she said.
