Scarlett Johansson faces a new evil in ‘The Exorcist: Martyrs’ trailer

MANILA — A detective is drawn back into a world of horror when a new killer invokes the name of a serial murderer she helped stop in the trailer for “The Exorcist: Martyrs,” the upcoming film starring Scarlett Johansson and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In the film, Johansson plays detective Julie Miller, whose work put an end to satanic serial murderer Father Sunday’s killing spree. Joining the cast are Diane Lane, Scoot McNairy, Gil Bellows, Laurence Fishburne,  and John Leguizamo, in the most menacing role of his career as Father Sunday.

“The Exorcist: Martyrs” is written and directed by Flanagan, based on characters created by William Peter Blatty.

The film is produced by David Robinson, Jason Blum, and Mike Flanagan. The film is executive produced by Alexandra Magistro and Ryan Turek.

“The Exorcist: Martyrs” is set to hit Philippine cinemas on March 10, 2027.
