Malupiton shares why he idolizes iconic comedians like Dolphy, Babalu, and Rene Requiestas

Since he started promoting his first movie project He’s Dating a Boldstar, Malupiton has been vocal about his admiration for the comedians who came before him. He also mentioned his personal advocacy to bring back the golden era of comedy that made icons of performers like Dolphy, Babalu, and Rene Requiestas. Also a big fan of Michael V., Malupiton (whose real name is Joel Ravanera), revealed that this film will just be the start of more big screen projects for him.

Na-resched pero pagka-resched, yung date na available sila, hindi naman ako available kaya hindi ako natuloy,” he said during the He’s Dating the Boldstar presscon.

During the presscon, Malupiton also clarified that getting into movies does not mean he will stop being a content creator.

In director Niokz Arcega’s new romantic comedy, Malupiton revealed some of his most popular vlog personas will be making an appearance, but admitted that he does not want to reveal too many details.

Laugh trip yun kaya abangan niyo,” he revealed.

Talking about working with his first ever leading lady Analyn Barro, Malupiton explained why his non-showbiz wife Joy had no issues with him being partnered onscreen with the Bubble Gang comedienne.

Kinasal na ako last year.

He’s Dating a Boldstar also includes an all OPM soundtrack with songs from Android-18, Silent Sanctuary, Kiko Machine, Doomrockets, and more. The cast includes Malupiton, Analyn Barro,  Dominic “Happy Friend” Biong, Joshua “Awut” Padigos, Nelson “Porman” Nielo, Bonn Earl Aquino, Mac Temones, Allen Deniro, Atha Quevedo, Aleck Bovick, Rob Sy,  and Leandro Baldemor.

He’s Dating a Bold Star opens in cinemas nationwide starting  October 28.
