NBI refers 4 Davao flood control cases to DOJ
MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has referred four cases involving alleged irregularities in flood control projects in Davao to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for appropriate action, while investigations into projects in Bulacan and other district offices remain ongoing.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag confirmed the development, saying the bureau has already submitted the four Davao cases to the DOJ.
“First, doon sa mga issues natin, including ’yung sa apat na flood control cases sa Davao, naipasa na po natin sa DOJ. Meron din tayong ongoing cases sa Bulacan at iba pang district offices,” Matibag said.
The NBI continues to investigate alleged irregularities in flood control projects in other areas to determine whether violations of the law were committed and identify the individuals who may be held accountable.
Further details regarding the ongoing investigations and any potential charges will depend on the bureau’s findings and the subsequent action of the DOJ.
