PVL: Akari limits Davison, fends off late PLDT rally for breakthrough win
The Akari Chargers. PVL ImagesMANILA — Akari fended off a late PLDT rally and held Savi Davison to just five points to enter the win column of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Siklab series, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
With the High Speed Hitters coming back from a 19-12 deficit, closing in within 22-21, the Chargers held their ground with a little help from the opposition’s errors and Davison’s bad night.
A PLDT miscommunication gave Akari a point at 23-21, but Mika Reyes earned it back with a quick hit, 23-22. Davison’s attack fault sent the Chargers to match point, as Fifi Sharma nailed the game-clinching kill.
It was a welcome development for Akari’s campaign, breaking through for their first win in three matches.
