Toll operators preparing for Undas exodus

Light to moderate volume of vehicles is seen at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Bocaue Toll Plaza in Bulacan on January 2, 2024. Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/FileMANILA— Tollway operators are now busy preparing for the anticipated heavy traffic for the upcoming Undas season.

The volume of vehicles typically go up during the season as many Filipinos either go home to their provinces or go on vacation outside Metro Manila.

Speaking to Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, Toll Regulatory Board spokesperson Julius Corpuz said the Department of Transportation instructed toll operators to prepare as early as October 1.

All expressways are expected to deploy more personnel to respond to motorists’ needs during that time.

Emergency responders are also ready should the need arise.

“May mga prepositioned tow trucks tayo at dadagdagan ang patrol and security vehicles,” he added.
