Pamilya Ni Kuya makes tough (and funny!) choices in this Would You Rather Challenge: “PBB” Edition

Before they got assigned to their hosting duties, the Pamilya Ni Kuya actually got a taste of life inside the “Pinoy Big Brother” house.  Most of them were once official housemates, while others entered as houseguests.

So, if they were given the chance to relive their “PBB” experiences, would they make the same choices? We’re about to find out as Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Enchong Dee, Gabbi Garcia, Alexa Ilacad, and Michael Sager take on a “Would You Rather” Challenge featuring tricky situations that all housemates typically encounter.

First up, would they rather celebrate Christmas or New Year inside Bahay Ni Kuya? Robi picked New Year because he’d much rather spend Christmas with his family. But wait, wouldn’t that mean getting evicted before New Year’s Eve?

Michael had a clever solution, saying he’d celebrate both inside the house since they’re only a week apart anyway. But if forced to pick one, he’d choose Christmas because spending it in “PBB” would be a special, once-in-a-lifetime memory. Melai would also rather share Christmas with her fellow housemates and welcome the new year with her family.

Enchong and Gabbi, on the other hand, were both Team New Year. The same goes for Bianca. Considering how many times she’s worked for Kuya during the holidays, this is nothing new, but she’d pick New Year because of the “PBB” team’s boodle fight tradition.

Alexa actually spent Christmas inside Bahay Ni Kuya when she was a housemate. And then she was evicted on December 26, just in time to spend New Year with her family. Best of both worlds, indeed.

Next, they were asked to choose between not bathing and not talking for an entire week. And even we don’t know which one’s worse. But for certified chatterbox Robi, he’d rather give up his shower time than stay silent for seven days. Michael begged to differ, though, having experienced a no-talking task in the past, which he and his fellow “PBB Collab” housemates struggled to pull off. But even with that experience, he’d still choose to keep quiet because he couldn’t give up the shower call.

Melai was Team No Bath, too, joking that she’s already survived a week without one anyway. Besides, keeping quiet has its downside, she jested, “Mangamgamoy ‘yung bibig ko no’n so ako rin mapo-poison.”

The struggle to pick one was so real for Gabbi, but she’d rather stay silent than skip showers, “Kasi maarte ako.” Bianca was on the same page, while Enchong and Alexa were willing to sacrifice their “ligo” just to keep talking.

Camping in the great outdoors or having fun on an island? We’ve got a bunch of beach lovers here, except Alexa, who initially wanted neither, as girly would rather avoid the sun. But if Kuya really made her pick, she’d go with the island adventure, too, making it a unanimous decision among the hosts. Michael thought it sounded fun. Melai loves swimming, while Gabbi considers water her element. Enchong also picked the island adventure, and Bianca, who’s experienced both activities in previous PBB editions, chose the island because she’s a beach girl at heart.

Living with other people means having to put up with their not-so-lovable habits. So, would our “PBB” hosts rather live with a housemate who’s always hungry or one who’s messy?

Robi picked the former, joking that having a “matakaw” housemate would at least help him stick to OMAD (one meal a day). Michael has already experienced living with both types of housemates, but he’d much rather deal with someone “makalat” than another big eater, which means less competition for his share of the food.

Because a messy people tend to put her in a bad mood, Melai would rather put up with an always-hungry housemate. Gabbi agreed that she’d rather live with a certified foodie, joking, “Kasi ako na ‘yung makalat.”

We’ve seen the hosts experience life as housemates, but have they ever wondered what it would be like to be in charge of the entire household? Would they rather spend another 100 days as housemates or take over Big Brother’s role for just 10 days?

Robi would gladly give Kuya a break and take over his duties. Plus, with a new baby at home, spending 100 days inside the house is definitely out of the question. Meanwhile, as the ‘senior’ of the group, Bianca would love to be called the nation’s ‘Ate.’

For the sake of fun, Gabbi would be willing to take over Kuya’s role so she could boss the housemates around. Alexa thought so too, saying she’d drive the housemates a little crazy. Michael, however, would rather not replace someone he looks up to. The same went for Melai, who considered that Kuya’s responsibilities are no joke.

We can’t wait to see Pamilya Ni Kuya back in action for “PBB Collab 3.0” this October 24! And we’re excited to get a peek inside the new Big Brother house! Watch the premiere on ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube Channel.
