Zaijian Jaranilla defends underage co-actor from a malicious question
Kapamilya actor and former child star Zaijian Jaranilla was quick to shield his underage co-star, Kanye Avendaño, from a malicious question. During the press conference for their upcoming film, Guryon, a member of the press asked the 12-year-old actor if he would be joining Vivamax in the future.
Kanye, who previously starred in Ang Mutya ng Section E under VIVA, was visibly surprised by the question.
“Pag lumaki ka ba, mag Vi-vivamax ka?” the member of the press asked.
“Hindi po,” Kanye immediately responded.
Vivamax, now known as VMX, is a streaming platform which has several films that are adult-themed. While the member of the press maintained that it was just a joke, Zaijian was quick to remind everyone that Kanye is a minor and should be cautious of what to ask him.
“Underage pa po si Kanye kaya ingat po sa mga ganun tanong,” Zaijian maintained.
“Pasensya na, joke lang yun,” the member of the press expressed.
On his TikTok account, the young actor expressed his gratitude towards the Kapamilya star for defending him from the malicious question.
“Maraming salamat po talaga, kuya Zaijan Jaranilla,” Kanye wrote.
Meanwhile, fans and netizens weighed in about the question the member of the press gave to the 12-year-old actor. They expressed their disappointment over the question in the comment section.
“Sino yung nagquestion? very unprofessional,” a fan wrote.
“Napaka unprofessional ng tanong hanep, bata yan hindi dapat nag tatanong ng ganyan sa bata jusq,” another fan added.
The clip of the press conference has since made the rounds on various social media platforms and netizens have been making their opinions known.
The family-oriented film Guryon also stars Xyriel Manabat and Ruby Ruiz, among others. It is directed by Lester Dimaranan and produced by Alpha Carmina Valdez.
