Delisted party-lists may refile accreditation before Dec. 30

Delisted party-lists may refile a petition for accreditation before Dec. 30, Comelec chairman George Garcia said on Friday. 

Garcia was asked if party-lists would not be able to run in the 2028 national and local elections if they fail to file a petition, he replied: “Opo.”

“Anytime po basta before Dec. 30, 2026,” the chairman told ABS-CBN News. 

The Comelec earlier issued a resolution cancelling the registration and delisting 50 party-lists.

Of the figure, 10 party-lists were delisted over their failure to participate in the last two polls. The remaining 40, meanwhile, were delisted after they failed to secure at least 2% of the votes cast and failed to obtain a seat in the second round of seat allocation for the party-list system in the last two elections.4

Among the party-lists delisted were Bayan Muna and Magdalo.
