TJ Monterde recounts memorable surprise during Swiss train ride with KZ Tandingan and parents

TJ Monterde shared how an unexpected turn of events made his family’s trip to Switzerland even more memorable.

The singer and his wife, KZ Tandingan, recently fulfilled their dream of bringing their parents to Europe for the first time.

One of the highlights of their trip was experiencing the Brienz Rothorn Bahn, a scenic steam train ride in Switzerland.

“After two years of planning, KZ and I finally brought our parents to Europe and today they are about to experience the iconic Brienz Rothorn Bahn dito sa Switzerland,” he said in an Instagram reel he posted on Friday, October 23.

He expressed how meaningful the experience was for him and KZ, especially since they had long dreamed of treating their parents to such a trip.

“Super dream come true ito para sa amin ni KZ. Pangarap talaga namin na ma-expeience nilang apat ito kasi tingnan niyo naman guys kung gaano kaganda ‘yan kaya deserve na deserve nila talaga ‘to,” he remarked.

However, things did not initially go as planned when heavy rain greeted the family during their train ride.

“But when we got there umuulan, as in buhos talaga. This was not what we expected. So ayan nalungkot si KZ kasi pinaghirapan talaga niyang i-book itong experience na ito for our moms and dads. This was the best view we could get. No blue lakes, no clear skies. But knowing our parents picture pa rin sila kahit maulan, kahit na half-open lang ‘yung mga bintana,” he shared.

Just when they thought the weather had ruined their plans, the family was treated to an unexpected surprise as the rain turned into snow.

“But then God had other plans. Kaya pala umuulan because it was about to snow and what made it special was it was the first snow since summer and we were all there to experience it together. Kaya ‘yung mga mukha namin, we were all like kids,” he recounted.

Looking back, TJ expressed his gratitude for the unexpected turn of events, which became one of the most memorable moments of their family vacation.

“Grabee what we thought was a letdown, turned out to be this trip’s best highlight. This was not what we expected. Lord, grabe ka,” he said.
