Charo Santos celebrates 17th anniversary of ‘It’s Showtime’: ‘It continues to bring people together’

Charo Santos took to social media to share a heartfelt message for It’s Showtime as the noontime show celebrated its 17th anniversary.

The actress and Kapamilya executive made a guest appearance on the show’s anniversary episode on Saturday, October 24.

“17 years of @itsshowtimena ! 🎉 I’ve seen this show grow through the years and it’s always a joy to see how it continues to bring people together,” she remarked.

Reflecting on the show’s journey over the years, Charo highlighted how it has continued to bring happiness to its viewers despite the changes and challenges it has faced.

“Ang dami nang nagbago, ang dami nang pinagdaanan but the joy it brings to its audience remains,” she said.

Charo also expressed her delight at being part of the anniversary celebration, during which she presented the Magpasikat Awards alongside GMA Network executive Annette Gozon-Valdes.

“I had such a fun time presenting the Magpasikat Awards with @annettegozonvaldes! Thank you for having me and letting me be part of this special celebration,” she stated.

She concluded her message by congratulating the entire It’s Showtime family and expressing her hope for the show’s continued success.

“Congratulations to the entire It’s Showtime family! Continue to evolve, entertain, inspire and touch the lives of Filipinos. Cheers to more years of bringing joy sa ating mga Kapuso at Kapamilya! ✨️” she remarked.

Meanwhile, during the show’s anniversary episode on Saturday, host Vice Ganda looked back on the journey of It’s Showtime throughout its 17-year run, likening the bond among the show’s hosts, staff, and viewers to that of a family.

“Sa puntong ito, nais namin magpasalamat sa lahat. Matagal-tagal na rin ang ating pinagsamahan. Naging makulay ang lahat ng iba’t ibang damdamin sa ating pinagsamahan para talaga tayong isang napakalaking pamilya,” he said.

Vice went on: “Makulay, madaming damdamin—minsan ang taas-taas ng kaligayahan natin ‘tapos, biglang lumulugmok tayo. Minsan ang ingay-ingay natin ‘tapos, biglang tumatahimik. Minsan parang lumalangoy lang tayo sa hangin; may mga pagkakataon naman parang nakakalunod na. Pero ano man ang nangyayari, sabay-sabay natin itong pinagdadaanan, nararanasan, pinagsasaluhan.”
