Lovi Poe recalls first year of motherhood
Lovi Poe described her first year of motherhood as “brutal” and full of sacrifices, but said she treasures every moment and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“It was brutal talaga. The rotation every three hours—she wakes up, I feed her then burp her. Then patulog na siya patulog ka na, but then kailangan mo gumising. I enjoyed all of it,” she recalled in an interview at her RSG “The Art of You” exclusive launch in Mandaluyong City.
“There are so many safrifices but there is just willingness you never thought you would have suddenly you are open doing them.”
Poe added that time has flown by with her daughter. While she enjoys seeing her reach new milestones, she also wants to savor every moment of her childhood.
“Ang bilis ng time. She is already saying so many things walking already. I try to savor everything but you cant savor enough,” she said. “It is so nice seeing her growing up. But at the same time I want to keep this side of her.”
While the actress is a hands-on mom, she also wasted no time getting back to work. In under a year, she has worked on several acting projects. “Under a year I finished two movies and one TB series. I went back to work agad. I did a film, Ignition with Macy Williams. I did that four months post partum. A series we shot in Korea… and isa secret pa. Something to look forward to,” she recalled.
In between, she also worked on her “The Art of You” collection.
“Yung make up artists friends ko talagang we test it. Ang dami back and forth. It was good enough but still wasn’t the best. Ang dami changes namin ginawa,” she explained. “Sa totoo lang it was two years in the making. Major multi tasking. I got pregnant, gave birth. As a new mom I was breastfeeding sa left then fixing everything on the right to meet the deadlines… It was nice with the guidance of RSG we were able to create something special.”
Poe emphasized that while her family remains her priority, she also believes in the importance of self-love and making time for herself to nurture her confidence and well-being.
“Sa totoo lang things are so different now. I don’t wake up like this. When I have special moments bumabawi ako to enjoy this side with me. Being a mom it’s nice to give that self fulfillment and build confidence on a daily basis,” she said.
