PNP to work with foreign police in probe into Meghan Markle’s father
MANILA — The Philippine National Police assured the public it will work closely with foreign law enforcement agencies as they investigate the child abuse and exploitation allegations against Thomas Markle, father of former actress Meghan Markle, wife of Prince Harry and duchess of Sussex.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla has confirmed that abuse and exploitation images were allegedly found at Markle’s former home in Cebu, which he reportedly denied.
PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez stressed the need for cross-border cooperation in investigating cases like Markle’s, which may involve digital evidence and individuals with links to different countries.
Philippine police said it will share information and support the investigation of its foreign counterparts in the United Kingdom and United States.
The PNP stressed children’s safety is a priority, noting that “those who try to engage in child exploitation often extend beyond borders.”
