PVL: Creamline still perfect, keeps Zus Coffee winless
MANILA (UPDATED) — Creamline kept its perfect record by turning back winless Zus Coffee, 25-19, 16-25, 26-24, 25-17, in the Siklab series of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
The win earned the Cool Smashers share of the lead at 3-0, mirroring the record of Nxled on top. Meanwhile, Zus Coffee dropped further to 0-3, as a victory remained elusive.
“‘Yun nga, naging maganda naman ‘yung response ng players namin, ‘yung situation kasi medyo hindi namin hawak. Talagang ‘yung second set medyo naging hindi maganda ‘yung service (at) receive namin pero ‘yun nga, lagi nga naming sinasabi na kada situation kailangan meron tayong pambawi, meron tayong solution sa lahat ng nangyayari,” said coach Sherwin Meneses during the postgame press conference.
Tied at one set apiece, the Cool Smashers found a way to squeak past the Thunderbelles in the extended third frame. After Jov Gonzaga put her team on set point, 24-23, Creamline showed its veteran poise, led by Alyssa Valdez.
The Creamline captain nailed an off-the-block hit to stay alive in the set, as a Pangs Panaga block overturned things around and reach set point themselves at 25-24.
Another Panaga block sealed the third frame for the Cool Smashers, 26-24, hacking out a 2-1 lead.
In the final period, Creamline turned the battle into a lopsided affair, uncorking an 8-1 run from the 12-10 count to pull away, establishing a massive 20-11 gap.
