Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival returns with more than 340 booths

The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will return October 29 to November 1 with more than 340 booths featuring wines and food from about 31 countries and regions, organizers said.

Organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and co-organized by the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux, the festival will take place at Central Harbourfront Event Space and Tamar Park under the theme “Taste the World’s Best.”

Among the highlights are the Grand Wine Pavilion, which will feature wines from major wine-producing regions including France, Italy, Spain and Chile, and the Amex Gourmet Club, where Michelin-starred restaurants will serve signature dishes.

The festival will also feature the Tasting Room, a collaborative dining experience bringing together five chefs from Hong Kong and mainland China.

Another attraction is a collection of “Only in Hong Kong” food and drink creations that reinterpret local flavors using contemporary techniques. One example is a black sesame soy milk pudding tart, which combines traditional soy milk flavors with a modern dessert format.

The culinary celebrations will continue throughout November with Hong Kong Gourmet Month, a citywide initiative by the tourism board in partnership with restaurants and bars. Participating establishments will offer limited-edition dishes, special dining experiences and discounts.

The tourism board will also release a Hong Kong Late-Night Dining Guide featuring places to eat and drink after dark, giving visitors another way to explore the city’s dining scene.
