Tupas previously served as Davao City chief information officer.
According to a copy of the complaint filed by the NBI-NCR to the DOJ, the case stemmed from the NBI’s investigation into the sworn statement of Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., who earlier alleged that Tupas received money intended for Vice President Sara Duterte.
Duterte had earlier denied receiving money and clarified that Tupas was neither her trustee nor personal aide, but had served only as the city information officer.
