Porsche launches all-electric Cayenne in PH
HandoutMANILA — Porsche has introduced the all-electric Cayenne in the Philippines, expanding its SUV lineup while continuing to offer gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid versions.
The launch coincides with the German automaker’s 30th anniversary in the country and marks another step in its shift toward electric vehicles.
The Philippine-spec Cayenne Electric features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain paired with a 113 kWh gross-capacity battery integrated into the floorpan. The system delivers up to 442 horsepower and 835 newton-meters of torque with Launch Control, allowing the SUV to accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 4.8 seconds.
The vehicle has a driving range of up to 642 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure, or WLTP.
Its high-voltage electrical system supports DC fast charging at rates of up to 400 kilowatts, while an 11-kilowatt onboard charger handles AC charging.
HandoutPorsche has also redesigned the SUV’s interior to make better use of space. The Cayenne Electric has a 3,023-millimeter wheelbase, with rear legroom measuring up to 511 millimeters. Its power-adjustable rear seats can move forward and backward by 150 millimeters, while the backrests can recline by up to 18 degrees to balance passenger comfort and cargo space.
The cabin features Porsche’s new Flow Display, a curved OLED screen that the company describes as its largest screen surface to date. An optional 14.9-inch passenger display provides access to media and navigation information.
Standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management, which adjusts the suspension to driving conditions. Optional features include rear-axle steering and an active-hydraulic chassis system.
Driver-assistance and parking features include adaptive cruise control, lane-change assistance, ParkAssist with surround-view cameras, automated parking and driver-attention monitoring.
By offering the electric model alongside gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions, Porsche is maintaining a range of powertrain options as the Philippine market’s electric-vehicle charging infrastructure continues to develop.
