Day 4: Gehlee, inalala ang suporta ng kaniyang ina habang nasa South Korea | PBB Collab 3.0
As they begin their journeys inside Bahay Ni Kuya, the “Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0” housemates also start to get to know each other through meaningful items from their respective homes. More than just ordinary belongings, these objects carry a precious memory or a personal story that offers a glimpse into their lives.
In the October 27 episode, housemate Gehlee Dangca got sentimental as she talked about a jewelry set that belongs to her mother, her biggest cheerleader since day one. Her mom, she revealed, had been by her side throughout her journey toward becoming a K-Pop idol, making countless sacrifices. “She’s always there for me especially when I auditioned for K-Pop. She’s the one who accompanied me with everything. She gave up a lot,” Gehlee said.
The ‘Darling K-Pop Idol ng Las Pinas’ went on to share that pursuing her dream of becoming a K-Pop idol in South Korea wasn’t easy, especially during the early days when she felt isolated while adjusting to a new environment. But her mother’s love and support helped her get through those difficult moments, as she would call her almost every day just to feel a little better.
Gehlee knows that her mom is probably worried about her now that they’re apart again, but she promised to do her best inside Bahay Ni Kuya and make sure that all her mother’s efforts would be worth it.
Housemate Lans Nagal also got emotional as she explained the significance of a wine glass from home, recalling how she grew up in a family that couldn’t afford much, so they used plastic utensils every day. But as life gradually got better, they were able to get their own house, which they’re still paying for, and her mom started collecting her dream household items, including plates and wine glasses. That wine glass reminds Lans not only of home but also of her family’s journey toward a better life.
Next to open a gift box was housemate Primo Alterado, who opened up about a tribal necklace he bought during the pandemic, a difficult time in his life when his parents separated because of trust issues, financial struggles, and other problems. While it might look like an ordinary accessory, he feels as though the necklace has silently listened to all the promises he’s made to himself, making it a meaningful reminder of his family.
