What’s new in F&B: Ube xiao long bao, birthday burgers, and Manam’s biggest PH branch

The Moment Group certainly has a lot going on this October, from limited-time menu items to the opening of its biggest Manam branch to date. 

First up is the Smashed Oh!, launched to mark the birthday celebration of the homegrown burger brand 8Cuts. It combines two of its headliners, with the classic cheeseburger layered with smashed onion rings. 

You can choose between a 1/4-lb and 1/3-lb serving, have the patty smashed, and upgrade to a meal with a side of onion rings and iced tea. They didn’t mention how long this will be available on the menu, so don’t miss it. 

Similarly, Din Tai Fung is celebrating its birthday in the Philippines by bringing back its seasonal xiao long bao basket, this time focusing on sweet offerings. The Taiwanese chain, brought to the country by The Moment Group, just launched the Ube Crunch Xiaolongbao, bundled with the beloved Chocolate Lava variant.

Crafted using DTF’s signature 18-fold technique, the new dessert combines a rich ube filling with a biscuit crunch. The birthday basket is available only until November 26, with the option of ordering the ube-filled dumplings separately.

Meanwhile, Manam recently reopened at Mall of Asia in Pasay City, and it’s now the Filipino restaurant chain’s biggest branch to date. 

Located at the ground floor of the Entertainment Mall, Manam MOA seats over 300 guests in a dining area framed by Manila Bay views. It has three private dining rooms that offer “handaan” sets featuring a combination of favorites and flagship specials.

There are menu items that are only available in this branch, such as the House Lechon de Leche and Camias Rice (a 48-hour pre-order), and the Spicy Lechon Belly (a 24-hour pre-order). A selection of inihaw and inasal from Manam’s Mama Nams brand can also be enjoyed here.

And as Christmas draws closer, Manam MOA is bringing in Pasko Specials, with familiar favorites given a festive twist. Available until January 3 next year, the lineup includes Crispy Kawali Kare-Kare, Anghang Sarap Crispy Pata, and Callos Caldereta.
