AirAsia Philippines adds flights to Kaohsiung
MANILA — AirAsia is adding more flights from the Philippines to Kaohsiung in October.
In a statement, the airline said it will now fly from Manila to Kaohsiung seven times weekly, up from four flights a week.
“With more Filipinos showing strong interest in traveling abroad, Taiwan remains our top route,” said AirAsia Philippines president and general manager Anna Victoria Lu.
The budget carrier noted that with more flights to Kaohsiung, Filipinos can visit Pingtung, which is just across the sea from Itbayat, Batanes.
At Pingtung, tourists can visit the Shanchuan Glass Suspension Bridge, a 262-meter-long bridge featuring glass bead-inspired designs that celebrate indigenous cultures in the area.
They can also “sleep with the fishes” at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, where guests can sleep inside the aquarium while looking at the sea creatures, like beluga whales.
Tourists can also try glass bead-making and visit Taiwan’s southernmost landmark, Eluanbi Lighthouse.
