EXCLUSIVE: Jas Dudley-Scales on promoting women’s health and prioritizing wellness

Former Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 housemate Jas Dudley-Scales continues to use her platform to promote women’s health and encourage more open conversations about conditions that are often left undiscussed.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for New Moon’s retail partnership with Watsons, Jas shared how her personal experience with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), now referred to as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), has inspired her to speak up and connect with other women facing similar struggles.

“As a woman who has struggled with PCOS, or now PMOS has, sobrang naging taboo siya in our country. No one really talks about it. No one really knows what to do. So, as a woman now that I have this platform of mine, I also want to inspire other people and let people know that you’re not alone. Your feelings are still valid,” Jas said.

She also commended advocates and health experts who continue to encourage women to become more open about their health and make informed choices toward a healthier lifestyle.

“Ms. Jona and others that are here, they’re here to help us. So, nakakaproud lang, anything that can help women. Actually, the New Moon line is not just for women, it’s for every single one. So, nakakahappy lang na we’re progressing. And it’s a great way to be part of the world, even if ang dami nangyayari, but there are still good things that are happening,” she expressed.

Aside from advocating for women’s health, Jas also talked about how she maintains a healthy lifestyle despite becoming busier with her career.

“Definitely, I go to the gym, I do Pilates, I do a lot of physical activities.I think that’s one thing for me to be physically, mentally, and emotionally well. And healthy, yun naman talaga yung importante. To be actually surrounded by the right people. Yun din yung next. Good vibes lang tayo dapat. Not pushing away, but I’m just walking with the right people that’s in my circle,” Jas said.

For Jas, maintaining a positive outlook is just as important as taking care of her physical health. She acknowledged that personal growth takes time and requires consistent effort.

“Siguro positive mind, even if ang dami nangyayari. It’s a work in progress. It’s not an overnight thing. It’s not a thing that you just adopt right here and then. You have to work on yourself talaga. And that’s been my goal. And I hope that the little things that I do inspire other people. Ang dami na kasi shortcuts now. So ngayon, we focus on the longevity, we focus on healthier ways, and just a positive mindset,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Jas expressed gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way and shared that she is looking forward to more projects and milestones in the coming year.

“Definitely, hopefully next year, we’ll have more projects. Siyempre now, focusing on my growth individually, mentally, emotionally. Ang dami ko pang kailangan i-fix. You know, I’m not getting any younger, but at the same time, it’s my first time living in the world. So there’s so many things to look forward to. I, myself, is looking forward for that also. So we’ll just see each other, guys, on social media or anywhere else,” she said.
