Filipina finishes 2nd runner-up in Mrs. Universe 2026

A Filipina was named the third most beautiful married woman in the world. 

Christine Llaneta won second runner-up in Mrs. Universe 2026 held in Colombo, Sri Lanka last week. She competed against 123 candidates from various countries.

According to her, she did not expect to win or even make it into the Top 10. But the hard work and resilience of the Filipina candidate paid off. Her costumes and gowns, crafted by Filipino designers, caught everyone’s attention — including a gown that carried a powerful message against violence against women. 

The objective of Mrs. Universe is to provide a platform and a voice for married women.

She said this year’s pageant focused on addressing violence against women.

Christine Llaneta was chosen to represent Germany in Mrs. Universe 2026.  She also won Miss Photogenic and received the People’s Choice Award in this year’s pageant. 

Isidora Rankovic of Monaco was crowned Mrs. Universe 2026, while first runner-up honors went to Mrs. Asia, Priya Munjal.
