PLM evacuates students, faculty over alleged bomb threat

MANILA — The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila received an alleged bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon, prompting the evacuation of students, faculty members, and staff from one of the university’s main buildings.

The Manila Police District Bomb Disposal Unit promptly arrived at the scene to secure the area and eventually cleared the building as safe, an hour after the evacuation.

The evacuation began at 4 p.m., with MPD BDU declaring the building cleared at 5:35 p.m.

“All personnel are advised to remain calm, cooperate with security officials and follow safety instructions,” PLM said in an advisory.

“The safety of the PLM community remains our utmost priority,” it added.
