How Nike Turned Manila’s Streets Into a Style Statement With the Nike After Dark Tour

There was a time when running in Manila was strictly a pre-dawn punishment—a solitary, sweat-drenched routine undertaken before the tropical humidity and traffic conspired to ruin your day. But on a humid Wednesday night at Nike The Fort, over 400 women gathered to formally declare that running is no longer just about logging miles or negotiating with your alarm clock.

Ahead of the sold-out Nike After Dark Tour (ADT) 10K on November 21—a night race snaking past Manila’s historical heavyweights like Intramuros and the National Museum—Nike transformed its storefront into a high-octane runway. Because in 2026, the global running consensus is clear: Performance gear and personal identity have officially merged. What a woman wears to the start line isn’t merely technical; it’s a full-throated commentary on who she is, who she’s running with, and how good she looks while doing it.

Styled by celebrity stylist Lyn Alumno, the show deliberately blurred the boundary between high-function activewear and post-run edge. Models and athletes strutted in head-to-toe hyper-pink colorblocks, layered mesh, and cropped silhouettes. “The clothes have to adapt to you, the movement has to go with you, and not the other way around,” Lyn noted, offering the kind of practical wisdom that applies equally to 10K training and surviving a fashion presentation.

Anchor-level presence came courtesy of Metro.Style’s Power Moves stars: taekwondo champion Pauline Lopez and seven-time SEA Games triathlon gold medalist Kim Mangrobang. For both elite athletes, the shift toward running as self-expression is a welcome departure from traditional sports dogmatism. Pauline, who used to avoid pink in combat sports out of fear of looking “too feminine,” now fully embraces the aesthetic freedom. “If you feel good, you look good, you perform good,” Pauline says. “If you want to wear a skirt, mesh, or glitter—who cares? Just do it.”

Kim, who clocked an astonishing 9:36 3K as a 12-year-old before even learning how to ride a bicycle, views her head-to-toe pink fits as essential visual motivation during grueling multi-sport training blocks. “It’s my commitment to pink,” she laughed. “I force myself to look good all the time when I run. That way, even if my face is tired, when I see myself, at least I look good.”

The Nike After Dark Tour (ADT) is a runway of pink

The collection itself leans heavily into hyper-pink, balanced by grounded neutrals across high-support bras, oversized hoodies, and technical tights. Underfoot, carbon-plated racing shoes like the Alphafly 4 and Vaporfly sit alongside daily workhorses like the Pegasus Plus 2, ensuring runners look fast while actually being fast.

The collection features a distinct hyper-pink colorway as the showstopper, mixed with black, grey, and white options providing choice for styling bold head-to-toe color block looks, or unique mix-and-match layering. The generous range of shorts, tights, sports bras, crops, tees, sleeveless, rugby-style pullovers, and hoodies means the personalization options are endless.

While the colors offer choice, the bold ADT graphics are instantly recognizable, a nod to the cities of the global tour, connecting all runners as one global community.

To complete the look, Nike’s road running footwear including the Alphafly 4, Pegasus Plus 2, Pegasus 42, Zoom Fly 6, in ADT-specific colorways mean runners won’t only be looking fast, but will be running fast too.

“Before I thought that when I was running, I wasn’t allowed to be all [about] fashion. But now, it’s a fashion statement — you just show up and be yourself! I always go by if you feel good, you look good, you perform good.” says Pauline Lopez.

After the show, host-creator Silvana Rauch joined Lyn and Ashley on stage to talk about what to wear on race day: how to balance performance, comfort and personal style when you step onto the course on 21 November.

“I started running because I was going through a difficult time in my life. I just wanted to get out, I just wanted to move, clear my head, and feel better. When Just Show Up Club started, I began getting messages from people with love and gratitude, thanking me for building this community. That’s when I realized that this is more than just fitness. It’s bigger than running. Community is so important because a person gains more confidence when you feel supported,” says Ashley Cayuca.

“What keeps me coming back to ADT is really the community. I don’t think anybody would stay in a space for a long period of time if you don’t enjoy the people you get to be with. Training with these women just feels amazing. I always go home with a huge smile on my face,” says Silvana Rauch.

Following a panel discussion with Just Show Up Club founder Ashley Cayuca and host Silvana Rauch, the evening concluded with a 3K community shakeout run through BGC led by Nike Run Coaches Ra Teano and Bianca Ramos. Ra offered one non-negotiable rule for race day: “Don’t try anything new on race day. Find something comfortable, reliable, and stylish.” As Manila prepares to reclaim the streets after dark, the message is clear: whether you’re chasing a personal record or simply showing up for the community, you might as well do it looking iconic.

Over 400 Filipina runners, 14 models, and elite athletes elite athletes came together

” A non-negotiable: don’t try anything new on race day. We have four weeks to go, so I would recommend trying out different pieces to form your race day fit! This is your opportunity, so try them on as early as now. Find something comfortable. Find something fun that’s going to help inspire and motivate you. It’s all about comfort, reliability, and style,” says  Nike Run Coach Ra Teano.

The ADT Manila is on November 21, 2026, and slots are all sold out. The run kicks off in the evening at Roxas Boulevard, snaking its way through landmarks such as the National Museum, Jones Bridge, and Intramuros, before finally finishing at the Quirino Grandstand. Can’t be part of the race? You can still come and cheer for the women winning the night from the sidelines, and you can also sign up for the Nike Run Club and download the app to be a part of the Nike running community.
