Neil Arce puts a witty spin on Halloween outfit featuring playful family reference
Neil Arce found a witty way to stand out at this year’s Halloween celebration, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a simple outfit and a clever punchline.
The businessman and celebrity dad was among the personalities who attended Ash Rye and Mond Gutierrez’s The New Nocturnals held at The Peninsula Manila on October 29.
Now in its fifth year, the celebration invited guests to draw inspiration from memorable movie characters and bring their own cinematic interpretations to life with the theme “Silver Screen: The Director’s Cut.”
Neil caught the attention of netizens after he arrived wearing a plain black shirt and a handwritten sign taped to his back.
The message read: “Asawa ni Angel Locsin + Daddy nung taga-PBB.”
The playful outfit referenced Neil’s marriage to actress Angel Locsin, as well as his relationship with his son Joaquin Arce, who was hailed as the Kapamilya third Big Placer in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.
Photos of Neil wearing the simple fit circulated on social media after event attendees shared their snaps and reactions. He later reposted some of the posts on his own Instagram account.
One attendee jokingly called it the “Scariest costume,” while another wrote, “Sorry your dad wins Halloween,” alongside a photo of Neil with Joaquin at the event.

The costume also made its way to Angel’s official Facebook page, where the post received more than 27,000 reactions in less than 24 hours.
Neil joined the fun in the comments section, revealing that the idea actually came from Angel.
“Concept from my wife,” he wrote.
His look proved to be one of the night’s memorable moments, turning a simple outfit and a piece of paper into a playful family-inspired costume.
Joaquin also drew attention at the gathering, attending with Lella Ford. The two took inspiration from Dune, dressing as Chani, portrayed by Zendaya, and Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, complete with matching Fremen stillsuits.
Other guests also embraced recognizable movie characters for the occasion. Michelle Dee transformed into Cruella de Vil, while Andrea Brillantes went for a Charlie Chaplin-inspired look. Darren Espanto and Alexa Ilacad, meanwhile, arrived as Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
