Somerset opens first VisMin property in Cebu

The Ascott Limited has opened Somerset Gorordo Cebu, its first Somerset-branded serviced residence in the Visayas and Mindanao, offering accommodations for business travelers, families and guests planning extended stays.

Located at the intersection of Archbishop Reyes Avenue and Gorordo Avenue, the property combines hotel services with the flexibility of serviced apartment living. It is also Ascott’s second serviced residence in Cebu.

“Somerset Gorordo Cebu is more than a place to stay. It’s welcoming you to well-appointed and unique spaces featuring flexi-rooms of a hotel and service residence where guests can feel at home away from home,” said Gwen Hufano-Contreras, general manager of Somerset Gorordo Cebu.

The property offers four types of accommodations: Studio Deluxe, Studio Premier, One-Bedroom Deluxe and Two-Bedroom Deluxe. Each unit features contemporary interiors and modern conveniences designed for both short-term and extended stays.

Facilities include a swimming pool, fitness corner, children’s playroom, guests’ lounge and function spaces. Dining outlets are also planned for the property.

Somerset Gorordo Cebu is located near Cebu Business Park and major commercial, retail, dining and entertainment destinations, making it accessible to business and leisure travelers.

The property’s interiors incorporate elements of Cebuano culture, craftsmanship and local design.

A hand-painted mural in the lobby reflects themes of nature and sustainability, while furniture pieces by Cebuano designer Kenneth Cobonpue and distinctive pendant lighting contribute to the property’s contemporary design.

Sustainability is also part of the property’s approach to hospitality, with design elements inspired by nature and initiatives encouraging guests to practice mindful consumption during their stay.

The opening expands Ascott’s presence in Cebu, one of the Philippines’ major business and tourism destinations. Somerset Gorordo Cebu caters to travelers seeking accommodations for business assignments, family vacations and longer visits to the city.
