BINI sings ‘Sama-Sama Tayo’ in tribute to PH’s ASEAN Chairship
The Department of Tourism (DOT) has released “Sama-Sama Tayo,” a new song performed by BINI celebrating the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship this 2026 while also paying tribute to the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Cebu last May.
The DOT shared the official video for the song on October 31, just ahead of the 49th ASEAN Summit in Metro Manila this November.
The song was composed by Ejay Yatco, Paw Castillo, and Moophs. Ejay handled the original arrangement, while Moophs served as producer. Mel Cortez and Lai Sison took charge of post-production.
In its announcement, the tourism department highlighted BINI’s role in celebrating the milestone and the connections formed throughout the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship.
“As the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship comes full circle, our Tourism Ambassadors and the nation’s girl group, @bini_ph, pays tribute to the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Cebu — the milestone that marked the beginning of our Chairship journey and set the stage for a year of meaningful connections, shared experiences, and a stronger ASEAN community,” the post read.
“One region, one shared future. Crossing the seas together, we sail as one! ❤️,” it added.
The official music video features the Nation’s Girl Group recording the song inside a studio, sharing lighthearted moments and enjoying the experience together. Their interactions reflect the sense of friendship and togetherness at the heart of the song.
Beyond the recording studio, the video takes viewers on a visual journey across the Philippines, showcasing some of the country’s destinations and natural attractions. Among the locations featured are the clear waters of Moalboal in Cebu, the high-rise buildings of Makati City, Siargao, Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, Baler in Aurora, El Nido in Palawan, Caramoan in Camarines Sur, Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, and Bucas Grande Island in Surigao del Norte.
The video also looks beyond the Philippines, featuring the other countries that make up the ASEAN, including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Scenes from the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Cebu are also included, giving viewers a glimpse of the gathering of regional leaders and the events that marked the beginning of the Philippines’ chairship journey.
Following the release, Filipinos expressed their pride in the new song and BINI for representing the country through music and showcasing the country’s destinations to a wider audience.
“This is how you release a great music with our own great artists! 🤙🏻🌸🇵🇭,” one netizen wrote.
“Wowww! Very high quality and highlight mga magagandang Lugar sa Pilipinas🔥😍,” another commented.
“Wow. Ang ganda ng song, so proud of you girls. 👏🤞 SAMA SAMA TAYO!” one more wrote.
The release comes ahead of the 49th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place from November 16 to 18, 2026, in Metro Manila.
Last July, BINI was formally introduced as ambassadors for DOT. The group paid a courtesy visit to Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay at the DOT Central Office in Makati City, where they discussed how they could help promote the Philippines and its destinations.
“They’re very knowledgeable about what is a charming feature of their town. I thought that the input is very refreshing, and each girl member has that to bring to tourism,” Secretary Dita said in an interview.
