Minor who allegedly killed own mom in Bohol charged with parricide

The Philippine National Police in Panglao, Bohol filed parricide charges against a minor who allegedly killed his own mother in Panglao, Bohol.

The remains of the mother was found inside an abandoned septic tank in Barangay Looc of the same town on Saturday, October 31.

The 15-year-old surrendered to the authorities after the discovery of his mother’s body, which sustained head injuries believed to be from a hammer.

The minor allegedly acted with discernment, Police Regional Office spokesperson Rolan Aliser said.

“Discernment means that he knows what is right from wrong and is aware about the crime,” Aliser said in Cebuano.

“He cleaned the mess on his own.”

The minor said that they were fighting with his mother because he was reprimanded for cutting classes.

The minor is detained at the municipal social welfare office of Panglao. 

He will be turned over to a juvenile facility once he reaches the legal age.

The authorities are also looking into the possible influence of online games on the minor, who allegedly is a Roblox user.
