Cebuana Chinita Meets Manila Chinito: A Glimpse of This Couple’s Grand, Theatrical Ballroom Wedding
From two different backgrounds and two individual journeys, one love story grew from Cebu to Manila. Love always finds its way.
For lawyer Kevin Yuri Chan and Cebuana social media influencer/The Pop Sugbo flea market founder Jackie Elloise Lim, what began as an unexpected encounter blossomed into a shared dream of forever. Their wedding became a beautiful reflection not only of their union, but also of the life they had always dreamed of building together.
Their love story had a milestone with the proposal taking place in Guangzhou, China—from Kevin asking the question that would mark their beginning to forever to what would be, without a doubt, the fastest “yes!” from Jackie.
Jackie expressed her happiness and surprise at the proposal, and looking back on their journey, love always finds its way to something neither of them expected.
“After all, we are two stubborn individuals who hated the Great Wall. But here we are, sweetheart. A bunch of inseparable lovebirds who tail each other behind wherever we go,” she said, feeling grateful to have someone like Kevin as her partner and best friend.
Sharing a glimpse of the diamond ring set on her finger, she described the engagement as a dream come true. Jackie shared the proposal through her Instagram post last December 31, 2024.
Nearly two years later, shrouded by its centuries-old stone walls, Yuri and Jackie found themselves standing beside each other, exchanging their vows at San Agustin Church in Manila on October 25, 2026.
The magic of the occasion was reflected in the thoughtful preparations that brought the couple’s wedding vision to life.
Adding a touch of stylish flair to the celebration, Jackie walked down the aisle in an elegant floral-embroidered, strapless, fit-and-flare bridal gown by Vee Tan Studios. Its intricate detailing and feminine silhouette evoked a timeless fairytale charm, bringing an ethereal touch to her bridal look.
Completing her ensemble, Jackie entrusted her beauty look to makeup artist Albert Kurniawan, while hairstylist Raymond Mateo perfected Jackie’s hair to match the event’s traditional aesthetic.
Beyond those beautiful details, on the same day, video captured by NicePrint Photography offered an intimate glimpse into the couple’s personalities and shared affection.
The video showcased Jackie speaking fondly of Kevin, describing him as the wisest person she knows, a masculine presence in her life, and above all someone who has always treated her with kindness.
With a touch of humor, Jackie remarked that he was still “better than ChatGPT,” adding a lighthearted touch to the declarations.
Yet, beyond the playful banter, the video also lent a more intimate air to the promises they made to each other, with fragments of their wedding vows.
“Dear sweetheart, today I take your last name, and I’m finally Jackie Chan for the rest of my life. I vow to be your constant support; I vow to keep learning and growing into a better person,” Jackie said.
While Jackie shared a promise to love and protect Kevin, embracing the journey of becoming one with him. Kevin also expressed how Jackie had become his source of inspiration, courage, and renewed ambition to live.
“Oh sweetheart, I love you so much, and you know you are the bravest person I’ve ever met. You pushed me to be better. You make me excited for the future, and I have so much more ambition because of you,” Kevin said.
He further promised to stand by Jackie throughout life’s uncertainties, extending his commitment and intention to build a life they would build together: “I want to protect you. I want to protect your family and make one for ourselves also, and I promise I’ll always take care of you. I love you in sickness and health. For richer and poorer, no matter what comes. I love you.”
The celebration carried on throughout the evening, as family and friends gathered to toast the newlyweds at Makati Shangri-La.

From Gideon’s spectacular décor to LED visual design by Always in Motion to the lighting, technical, and sound production by Forscink Incorporated, each element harmonized together at the ballroom, elevating the thoughtful details into a grand statement of love, talent, and creativity.
The reception took an opulent theme, underscored by deep crimson and red hues. The venue was bathed in warmth, with gold, glowing lighting from cascading chandeliers and lush floral arrangements. The rich burgundy draperies evoked a sense of passion and romance.
As the evening unfolded from one moment to another, the bridesmaids made their spirited entrance in their dark red silhouettes to the sincere wishes from closest friends and family. Adding to the evening highlights, NicePrint also provided a reel of Jackie and Kevin’s dance as a newlywed couple.
The couple gracefully swayed to the cadence of the classical music beneath the spotlight across the center stage. The scene transformed the evening into a theatrical and heartwarming experience, almost as if straight out of a romantic film.
