EA Guzman, Shaira Diaz are finally husband and wife on screen
It’s about time. It finally happened.
Real-life couple EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz-Guzman are bringing their chemistry to the big screen in MAVX Productions’ newest family movie, “Buddy.”
It’s the couple’s first movie together as husband and wife. And not just anywhere — in Finland.
Shot entirely amid the breathtaking landscapes of Finland earlier this year, “Buddy” is directed by Lucky Blanco and backed by an ensemble that includes veteran actors Michael de Mesa and Benjie Paras, Elisse Joson, Elijah Canlas, and Empoy Marquez.
The film held its red-carpet premiere on October 27 at TriNoma.
For Guzman, the Finland shoot was more than work.
Beyond the lock-in, beyond the sub-zero call times, the project also became a quiet celebration for the sweethearts. While filming, the couple marked their first wedding anniversary.
Guzman continues to flex his comedic chops as part of “Bubble Gang.” Shaira, meanwhile, is one of the mainstays of “Unang Hirit” and the educational program “iBilib” alongside Chris Tiu.
With television and now film, the couple continues to prove they can shift from comedy to hosting to drama, while showing audiences what partnership looks like both on and off screen.
“Buddy” opens in cinemas nationwide on November 4. The film is rated PG by the MTRCB.
