Jameson Blake, Brent Manalo, Kolette Madelo make theater debut with ‘The Art of Breaking Up’

MANILA — Several Kapamilya artists made their theater debut with “The Art of Breaking Up” a play based on George de Jesus III’s award winning piece “Kung Paano Maghiwalay.”

Among the stars who performed on the PETA Theater Center stage for the first time for the media preview were Jameson Blake, Brent Manalo,  Dingdong Bahan, Kolette Madelo, and Analain Salvador.

“I am really happy. It was a new environment for me… It really helped me explore what I can do and helped me push in a scene and find new things I can do for my scenes,” Blake, who portrays Dino, said in an interview held in Quezon City, Thursday.

Manalo admitted he was very nervous for his first-ever theater performance, but was proud of himself for taking on the challenge.

“Parang naka hinga na ako finally ng maluwag! I am so happy it is finally over, my first ever media show namin. I am really proud of everyone, and of course myself,” the actor, who took on the role of Jake, said.

According to Bahan, who plays Ferdz, having fellow Kapamilyas  who are also making their theater debut, helped ease their nerves as they navigated the new experience.

“Nagsama-sama kami na first timers, Nakakagaan siya ng pakiramdam. Hindi ka lang nag iisa,” he reasoned.

(“We were all first-timers, so it made the experience feel less daunting. You know you’re not alone.”)

Meanwhile, Salvador teased an emotionally moving, heartfelt two-hour experience for audiences.

“Watch the Art of Breaking Up to feel all the emotions of the entire world,” she enthused.

“The Art of Breaking Up” will run from November 6 to December 6.
