Travis Kelce shares what he’s looking forward to in his first Christmas as a married man
“I’m excited for my first holiday as a married man.”
These were the words of NFL star Travis Kelce as he expressed his excitement about celebrating his first Christmas as the husband of global pop superstar Taylor Swift.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), Travis shared his holiday plans as he looks forward to embracing familiar Christmas traditions while creating new ones with his wife.
“I love all the old traditions and can’t wait to start some new ones. I start celebrating as that tree goes up,” he said.
Travis and Taylor tied the knot on July 3 (US time) in a wedding ceremony held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
During an earlier episode of his New Heights podcast, the NFL star reflected on their special day and shared how much the celebration meant to him and Taylor.
“It’s been so much fun, it was insane. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up,” he stated.
He went on: “From the vows to seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that being relayed through everyone’s stories of that night… It was just so magical, man. I wish it could have lasted longer than it did.”
Travis also expressed his appreciation for actor and comedian Adam Sandler, who officiated their wedding ceremony.
“He has been just the f***ing best person on this planet. For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor, and the way he did it, in the very Sandman style, and giving us more than what we could’ve imagined at that moment, knowing that it was the biggest night of our lives, it was absolutely insane man,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs star revealed why he and Taylor selected Madison Square Garden as their wedding venue, explaining that they wanted to maintain an intimate atmosphere despite the grand setting.
“Thank you to everyone at MSG… We wanted it to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions and we needed to have a private feel,” he stated.
Travis further praised the venue’s team for going “above and beyond” to bring their wedding vision to life.
“I can’t thank everybody enough, that showed up but helped put that show on,” he remarked.
