Isko bares faith in own ‘survey’
CEBU CITY — “I’d rather be the one making the survey than the one being surveyed.”
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno had this to say after he emerged as the top pick among the presidential hopefuls in the recent survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc.
The nationwide survey, which was conducted on October 17-26, saw majority of the 10,000 respondents picking Moreno as their candidate for president.

The survey showed Moreno earning 25.39 percent in the entire country. He was also the preferred candidate in the three geographic areas with 30.53 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR); 24.63 percent in the Visayas; and 22.70 percent in the Mindanao.
Moreno was followed by Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos (23.10%), Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo (18.31%), Senator Emmanuel ‘Manny” Pacquiao (17.88%), Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (7.08%), Senator Ronald “Bato” De la Rosa (3.41%), and Ernesto “Ernie” Abella (0.81%).
The Manila mayor, however, just shrugged off the results of the survey.
“I don’t pay attention to surveys. The election is still seven months away, it’s a marathon,” Moreno at the sidelines of his visit in Moalboal town, southern Cebu on Thursday, November 5.
Moreno was in Cebu for two days as part of his “Listening Tour” where he met with various sectors.
Instead of paying attention to the pulse of the voters through surveys, Moreno said he himself will reach out to the public to get their sentiments.
“What I am after is to go around the country and talk to many people as possible. I want to know the real status, the quality of their lives. I what to know what are their needs. That’s the real survey,” said Moreno.
