BINI wins Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year at Filipino Music Awards 2026
Nation’s Girl Group BINI took home two grand awards at the recently concluded Filipino Music Awards 2026, further marking their continued rise in the OPM scene both locally and internationally.
Held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 6, the second year of the Filipino Music Awards brought together fans and artists to celebrate the musicians behind some of today’s beloved OPM songs.
BINI Jhoanna and Maloi were present at the awards night to accept the awards on behalf of the group, since the rest of the members were unable to attend the ceremony.
Following their successful tour this 2026, BINI won Tour of the Year for their Signals World Tour.
Maloi expressed her gratitude to the Filipino Music Awards for recognizing the group while they are still in the middle of their international tour.
“First of all, we’d like to thank the Filipino Music Awards for this award. Alam niyo [naman] na we’re still on tour right now, so thank you [kasi] in the middle of our tour, naka-receive kami ng recognition,” Maloi said. “It fuels us to be greater and para pag-igihan pa namin sa lahat ng pagkakataon.”
“Maraming maraming salamat for inspiring us to be great like you guys. Thank you for making OPM so special,” she added.
Jhoanna, meanwhile, thanked ABS-CBN and their music label Star Music for believing in BINI and supporting their activities in and out the country.
“Alam po namin na hindi madaling magpalipad ng artists sa ibang bansa, siyempre, ang laking gastos po n’un tapos walo pa po kami. Pero thank you kasi hindi niyo po kami sinusukuan. Maraming salamat po,” Jhoanna said.
“Mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino!” Maloi exclaimed.
Capping off the night, BINI was hailed as Artist of the Year.
Presented by Chief of OPM Ogie Alcasid, the award came as a surprise to Jhoanna and Maloi, who became emotional as they went up the stage to receive the trophy.
“Hindi ko alam paano ko sisimulan, hindi po talaga namin in-expect ito,” Jhoanna lightheartedly admitted at first. “We went here po na gusto lang po talaga namin na mag-celebrate kasi kami ni Ate Maloi, we’re great fans of OPM. Hindi namin pinasok sa utak namin na gusto naming makakuha ng award bago maka-uwi…Thank you FMA sa award na ito. Maraming salamat po.”
Reflecting on BINI’s journey throughout the year, Jhoanna shared how challenging the past months had been for the group, particularly since their historic Coachella appearance.
“Itong year na ito, feeling ko ito ‘yung most mentally, physically, and emotionally challenging for BINI, especially nung pumasok ‘yung Coachella. Kaya parang feeling namin, ‘Do we really deserve it na magpunta sa stage ngayon?’ Pero dahil sa suporta niyong mga Pinoy…maraming salamat po dahil pinaramdam niyo po sa amin kung gaano kalayo ang kayang marating ng OPM.”
Maloi shared their gratitude as they accepted the major recognition, while also sending their love to the other BINI members.
“Sobrang emotional namin. We’re just so grateful. Our hearts are so full of gratitude and love. Thank you so much for this award. We can’t wait to share this with our sisters. BINI, we miss you here. We love you,” Maloi said.
Apart from the two girl group members, ABS-CBN Music executives were also present at the event to join them in accepting the awards.
