BINI, SB19, Maki take home top honors at Filipino Music Awards 2026
Filipino music took center stage as the second Filipino Music Awards brought together artists, fans, and some of the biggest names in OPM at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 6.
The second year of the awards show celebrated the musicians behind some of today’s beloved Filipino songs, with BINI, SB19, Maki, and other artists receiving major honors throughout the night.
The ceremony was hosted by Billy Crawford, KC Montero, and Joey Mead King, who guided audiences through the awards and performances celebrating the diversity of Filipino music.
Nation’s Girl Group BINI was among the biggest winners of the night, taking home two major awards: Tour of the Year for their ongoing Signals World Tour 2026 and Artist of the Year.
BINI members Jhoanna and Maloi represented the group at the ceremony, with the two accepting the awards on behalf of their fellow members.
SB19 also had a strong showing at the awards, taking home three honors: People’s Choice – Artist, People’s Choice – Song for “VISA,” and Concert of the Year for Wakas At Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale held in Parañaque City last April.
The five-members boy group used their acceptance speeches to thank their fans for their continued support while also sharing how proud they are for representing OPM.
Maki also received one of the night’s biggest recognitions, winning Album of the Year for his 2025 album KOLORCOASTER.
Although Maki was present during the earlier part of the ceremony and performed some of his hit songs, he was unable to personally accept the award. ABS-CBN Music executives received the honor on his behalf.
Meanwhile, rising alternative rock band fitterkarma was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year. They are best known for their song, “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II.”
Skusta Clee and Flow G took home Song of the Year for their collaboration “Since Day One,” which they also performed towards the end of the awards ceremony.
The awards night also recognized some of the industry’s established names and institutions through its Legacy Awards.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez received the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her decades-long contribution to Filipino music. The Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) was honored with the Music Foundation Award, while ABS-CBN was named Music Company of the Year.
