Nation’s Girl Group BINI emerged as one of the biggest winners at the Filipino Music Awards (FMA) 2026, taking home Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year honors in a night celebrating the best of Original Pilipino Music.

BINI members Jhoanna and Maloi received the Artist of the Year award on behalf of the eight-member group and became emotional as they thanked the Filipino music community and their supporters.

Jhoanna admitted they did not attend the ceremony expecting to win, saying she and Maloi simply wanted to celebrate OPM as longtime fans of Filipino music.

“Hindi ko alam paano magsisimula. Hindi namin in-expect ’to. We went here to celebrate kasi kami ni Ate Maloi, talagang fan ng OPM,” she said.

She also reflected on what she described as one of BINI’s most mentally and physically challenging years, particularly as the group reached bigger international stages, including Coachella.

“Dahil sa suporta ninyong mga Pinoy, maraming salamat po dahil pinaramdam ninyo sa amin kung gaano kasarap at kasayang marating ng OPM,” Jhoanna added.

Maloi, meanwhile, said their hearts were filled with gratitude.

“Grabe, sobrang emotional lang namin. We are just so thankful. Our hearts are so full of gratitude and love, and we can’t wait to share this with our sisters,” she said.

BINI also won Tour of the Year, adding another major recognition for the group amid its ongoing world tour.

SB19 also scored major victories, with their “Wakas At Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale” named Concert of the Year. The group was voted People’s Choice Artist, while their track “VISA” received the People’s Choice Song award. South Korean supergroup BTS was named People’s Choice International Artist.

Meanwhile, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid received the FMA 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award.

In her acceptance speech, Velasquez-Alcasid jokingly admitted that receiving a lifetime achievement award could be intimidating because it might suggest an artist is getting older or nearing the end of a career. She then turned emotional as she thanked the Filipino Music Awards, her family, husband Ogie Alcasid, and the people who have supported her throughout her career.

She reserved a special expression of gratitude for her faith: “Nakakatakot mabigyan ng lifetime achievement kasi ibig sabihin matanda ka na or malapit na malaos yung career mo or malapit ka na machugi but thank you for this honor to Filipino Music Awards. I will treasure this award thank you yto my family and my husband, to Cacai, I wanna say thank you to my best friend to the one who gave me this wonderful talent, my savior Jesus Christ”

ABS-CBN Music was also named Music Company of the Year.

Accepting the recognition, ABS-CBN Music executive Roxy Liquigan thanked the company’s labels and listeners who continued to support their artists despite the challenges ABS-CBN has faced over the years.

“Marami pong pinagdaanan ang ABS-CBN. Maraming salamat po sa mga tagapakinig po sa amin. Nakabangon po kami ulit,” Liquigan said.

The late Master Rapper Francis Magalona was also honored with a Tribute Award, received by his wife, Pia Magalona, and daughter Maxene Magalona.

Pia thanked the Filipino Music Awards, the record labels Francis worked with, and the artists who collaborated with him throughout his career. She dedicated the recognition to their children and encouraged a new generation to continue listening to his music.

“We just wanted to ignite the fire inside all our countrymen,” she said, adding that Francis had “a song for everything” and expressing hope for “a good and better future for our country and future generation.”
