1,380 liters of diesel seized, 1 arrested in Occidental Mindoro

MANILA — A call from a concerned citizen led to the seizure of approximately 1,380 liters of diesel fuel worth P129,720 and the arrest of an individual in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on October 6.

Police responded to information about the alleged possession and sale of a large volume of diesel fuel in the area.

At around 2:15 p.m., police observed an individual transferring diesel fuel into several containers. The individual reportedly claimed ownership of the fuel but failed to present documents authorizing its possession and sale or establishing its lawful source, the report said.

Authorities seized five blue drums containing about 200 liters each, nine black containers with 25 liters each, four green containers with 30 liters each, one white container with 20 liters, and one yellow container with 15 liters of diesel.

The individual was arrested for alleged violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1865. 

The seized fuel was placed under police custody for proper disposition.
