Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo celebrate son Lucho’s 16th birthday
Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo’s only son, Lucho, turned 16 on Wednesday, October 7.
Judy Ann marked the milestone on Instagram with a heartfelt message for her son, whom she called the “simplest kid” she knows.
According to the actress, Lucho didn’t ask for a big party or fancy gifts. All he wanted for his birthday was to watch a movie in the cinema.
The family gave him exactly that. Photos shared by Judy Ann show Lucho at the movies with his sisters, Yohan and Luna. Another photo shows the birthday boy posing beside his cake with “16” candles.
“Our birthday boy. The simplest kid I know, with simple joys. He just wanted to watch a movie for his birthday… nothing else,” Juday wrote.
Judy Ann recently returned to television as the lead star of the HBO Max series Call My Manager.
In her post, she said that being a mom is one of the roles she treasures most, and that she is proud to see Lucho grow into a fine young man.
“Oh, my boy… One of my favorite roles to date is being a mom to you, Ats and Pot,” she said. “Watching you grow up and become that fine young man makes Mama’s heart so happy and proud.”
Juday ended her post by telling Lucho to stay true to himself. She said she isn’t worried about him because he knows his values by heart.
“You do you, with God’s guidance and love. I have nothing to worry about. You know your values by heart, my love. You’ll be fine,” she said. “Mama and Dada will always be here… always. I love you so much, Juan Luis. Happy birthday, my favorite you.”
Ryan, meanwhile, kept his greeting short. He posted photos of Lucho playing football, his favorite sport, with the simple caption “16.”
Football is a big part of Lucho’s life. Last July, he was named Player of the Match at an international tournament in Spain, a win Judy Ann proudly shared online. She has also praised how disciplined her son is in balancing his studies with the sport.
Lucho, whose full name is Juan Luis, was born in October 2010. He is the second of Judy Ann and Ryan’s three children. Their eldest, Yohan, was adopted by Judy Ann before she married Ryan, and their youngest, Luna, was born in 2016.
Judy Ann and Ryan became a couple after playing love interests in the TV series Krystala, which aired from 2004 to 2005. They got married on April 28, 2009, at San Juan Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas.
Ryan has long dedicated posts to his son. Through his #storiesforlucho series on Instagram, he has shared family moments and stories from his early days with Judy Ann, including how the two first met.
Call My Manager, which premiered on HBO Max on August 13, is the Philippine version of the hit French series Call My Agent! Judy Ann plays Andrea Manuel, a veteran talent manager handling demanding celebrity clients. Edu Manzano and RK Bagatsing co-star, and Erik Matti directs. The series marked Judy Ann’s return to television after Starla in 2019.
