Can one ever truly walk away from a great love? Or will the what-ifs haunt them forever?
Apollo (Joshua Garcia) and Luna (Julia Barretto) reminisce about a relationship that never quite was in a freshly dropped scene from “Always Yours, Never Mine”, released on Star Cinema’s social media pages on Friday, October 9.
With time, distance, and circumstance changing them into different versions of themselves, Apollo and Luna seemingly find that what remains constant is the space they hold in their hearts for each other. The longing couldn’t be more palpable in this car scene, where, as they keep themselves dry from the rain, they recount every almost that could have ended with them finally being together.
Between Apollo’s heartbreaking rejection in Cebu, Luna’s opportunity in Germany, and finally, Apollo’s marriage, the two reflect on the bittersweet chapters they’ve since closed shut and left behind — until now.
After recounting lingering moments in their past, Apollo gives Luna a somber glance and tells her, “Baka sana tayo ngayon.” With everything they’ve been through, is Apollo still desiring to rewrite their story?
Despite Apollo’s words, Luna manages a faint smile and brings a sense of clarity to all their missed chances, later saying, “But we have to live with our choices.”
Is it too late for Apollo and Luna? Or is their enduring love still worth clinging onto even after all these years?
