MUPH Bea Millan-Windorski reflects on public service, preparations ahead of Miss Universe 2026
With less than a month before she departs for Puerto Rico, Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Bea Millan-Windorski is looking forward to representing the country on the international stage while carrying the stories of fellow Filipinos and the advocacies she has championed during her reign.
In a recent Instagram post, the beauty queen from La Union expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete at Miss Universe, describing it as a lifelong dream.
“With less than a month left till I depart for Miss Universe in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I stand with a heart full of gratitude and pride. It is the honor of a lifetime to represent my beloved Philippines on the international stage,” the beauty queen from La Union wrote.
Since winning the Miss Universe Philippines crown, Bea has also remained committed to her promise of serving communities and championing causes close to her heart.
“In my six months as Miss Universe Philippines, I have spent every day trying to live up to my promise of being a public servant for all. From working with climate vulnerable communities on our coasts, to mangrove reforestation and marine biodiversity conservation work, to uplifting migrant workers and their families, to advocating for equal protections for our LGBTIA+ brothers and sisters,” Bea said.
For Bea, pageantry carries a responsibility that goes beyond the competition itself, offering a platform to raise awareness of issues affecting communities.
“To me, pageantry holds a responsibility far greater than crowns and sashes. It provides a platform to advocate for our world’s most underserved communities and the opportunity to envision the kind of future we deserve,” she said.
As she prepares to compete this November, Bea hopes to bring the stories of her fellow Filipinos with her to the Miss Universe stage.
“As I step onto the Miss Universe stage, my greatest pride will be to carry the stories of my kabaybayan, and to promote a future where all voices are heard,” she said.
In a previous interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Bea also opened up about how her preparations for the international competition differ from those she underwent for Miss Universe Philippines.
She shared that she is now placing greater emphasis on her physical fitness and mental well-being as she gets ready for the demands of the competition.
“This time around, I’m really hitting the gym, focusing on my health and fitness. And then, I’m also making sure that I’m as mentally strong as possible, working with my Q&A coaches, and also taking some time for myself to really recalibrate before the competition begins,” she said.
Despite the pressure, Bea said winning the national title has already been a dream come true. Still, she intends to give her best as she prepares to compete in Puerto Rico.
“So by making it to the Miss Universe Philippines crown, I already feel as if I’ve won. And of course, I’m going to work as hard as possible to make the Philippines proud in Puerto Rico, but really the greatest honor of my life is being your Miss Universe Philippines,” she said.
