LIPA CITY, Batangas — The driver of a vehicle that chased and repeatedly rammed into an SUV in Lipa City, Batangas has been arrested.

The SUV driver managed to maneuver his vehicle to a police station in Lipa City, Batangas, while being chased and repeatedly rammed by a car. Unaware that the SUV had reached a police station, the suspect continued his pursuit, leading to his arrest.

According to the Lipa City Police Station, the SUV was traveling along the Inosluban-Marawoy bypass road around 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday when its occupants spotted a speeding car counterflowing into their lane at the Marawoy intersection.

The SUV driver allegedly flashed the vehicle’s headlights to warn the car driver. The car then made a U-turn and cut in front of the SUV.

The SUV driver turned around to avoid a confrontation, but the car continued pursuing them and rammed the SUV from behind near Ayala Highway.

The SUV continued driving to evade the pursuing vehicle, but the car rammed it again near a roundabout. The pursuit continued along Morada Avenue, where the car allegedly struck the SUV again.

CCTV footage showed the car repeatedly chasing and ramming the SUV. In another recording, the SUV was seen speeding away with the car following closely behind. The SUV then suddenly reversed, but the car returned and continued the pursuit.

The SUV’s occupants eventually spotted a sign indicating the location of the police station and drove there to seek help.

The car driver continued following them, apparently unaware that the SUV was heading to the police station. CCTV footage showed both vehicles entering the station’s gate, with the car still tailing the SUV.

Police officers on motorcycles, who had been alerted to the incident, arrived shortly afterward and arrested the 47-year-old car driver, who works as a virtual assistant.

Authorities said the driver appeared to be behaving irrationally. Police were seeking his voluntary consent to undergo drug testing to determine whether he was under the influence of illegal drugs at the time of the incident.

The suspect faces eight counts of attempted murder and has declined to issue a statement.

The Lipa City police said the incident went beyond reckless imprudence, citing the suspect’s repeated actions as evidence of possible criminal intent.

The Lipa City Police Station has also coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to seek the revocation of the suspect’s driver’s license.
