‘Forgotten Island’ fosters unity among Pinoy community in LA
Los Angeles-based artist-entrepreneur Eduard Bañez praised the film “Forgotten Island” for its representation of Filipinos.According to Bañez, the Filipino community in Los Angeles continues to promote the movie, hoping that more Americans will watch it and fully understand the richness of Pinoy culture.
“Seeing our culture on screen is refreshing, especially knowing that the entire world will see it. I love how each scene in the movie represents who we are,” Bañez said.
“I’ve urged my American friends to see the movie in the hopes that it will inspire them. While some have already watched, others intend to do so. It should be seen on a large screen, in my opinion. Instead of waiting for streaming, let’s see it in theaters,” he added.
The former MTV Asia host also praised Liza Soberano and H.E.R for their talent and undeniable Pinoy pride.
“Filipino artists have a place in Hollywood, as demonstrated by Liza Soberano, a homegrown product of Philippine showbiz. Her constant mention of her origins and identity is what I adore about her,” Bañez shared.
He also stated that the film is extremely important, particularly in these times when the world appears to be divided.
“We should celebrate Filipino culture and creativity. As someone who lives in America, I will always carry my Filipino identity with me wherever I go. This film is also a celebration of making art with human minds and hands in the era of AI. Salute to them,” he expressed.
