NBI summons ‘Machong Chismisan’ podcasters over Josh Aquino remarks

MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has issued subpoenas to members of the Machong Chismisan podcast over their alleged insensitive remarks about actress Kris Aquino’s son Josh, who is on the autism spectrum. 

NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag confirmed that the subpoenas were served to two of the podcast members, particularly those allegedly most directly involved in the statements under investigation. 

The podcasters were directed to appear before the NBI Cybercrime Division on the afternoon of October 20, 2026 to give their statements as part of the bureau’s investigation on possible violations of laws protecting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities. 

The issuance of the subpoenas is part of the bureau’s fact-finding process and gives the individuals concerned an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
