Lotto outlets in Quezon City see influx of bettors as jackpots soar

MANILA — Lotto outlets in Quezon City saw an influx of hopeful bettors on Friday as the jackpot prizes for Ultra Lotto 6/58 and Mega Lotto 6/45 continued to climb, reaching ₱399 million and ₱115 million, respectively.

Among those who tried their luck was security guard Jez Montemayor, who headed straight to a lotto outlet along Quezon Avenue after finishing work at 4 p.m.

Montemayor said he has been keeping the same numbers for two years, hoping they would eventually bring him the life-changing jackpot.

When asked what he would do if he wins the jackpot, he said, “Syempre para sa pamilya, hanapbuhay, business talaga una.“

Painter Roderick Rico, who hails from Davao, also joined the hopeful bettors. He said that if he wins, he plans to bring his winnings back to his home province to invest in a business and buy land.

“[Dadalhin ko] sa Mindanao, taga Davao ako eh, pang negosyo, lupa,” he said.

A similar scene unfolded at lotto outlets in the Scout area of Barangay Pinyahan and along Agham Road, where bettors shared their plans for the potential windfall.

Some said they would donate a portion of their winnings to people in need, while others planned to support their families, establish businesses, and help communities in their respective provinces.

“Ito ay aking ido-donate para sa mga taong nangangailangan talaga ng tulong, halimbawa sa doon sa aming lugar namin sa Samar. Ramdam ko ang mga tao ngayon hirap talaga sa pera,” said Maria Salvacion Alegro.

She also expressed willingness to provide financial assistance to those who would ask for help.

Johnny Ang Junior, meanwhile, said he would buy land and donate it to the church.

Denise Chua also said she would invest her winnings to grow her money and help more people.

“Investment para mapaikot at para mas makatulong pa sa mga tao,” she said.

Lotto outlets in Quezon City are expected to remain open until 8 p.m. on Friday, ahead of the anticipated live draws tonight.

For the hopeful bettors, the growing jackpot prizes represent not only a chance to change their lives but also an opportunity to help their families and communities.
