Baby Dolls make us go “Oooh Lala” as we get to know them better on “Gandang Gabi Vice”
Oooh lala! The Baby Dolls are certainly having their moment this 2026, with their catchy songs and a schedule that’s getting busier by the day. But while we’re already familiar with them, there’s still so much to learn about the seven-member girl group. Good thing their latest “Gandang Gabi Vice” guesting gave us the perfect opportunity to discover a different side of them.
First things first, let’s get acquainted with the girls who make up the squad, which was formed by bringing together former contestants of “It’s Showtime‘s” “Sexy Babe” and “Girl on Fire” segments. Each Baby Doll has a special role to play in their group dynamic. Ina makes sure everyone’s on schedule, while Jelai and team leader Ariane work their magic on the choreography. Chole handles the vocals, while Johaira supplies the comedy. Juby serves as the visual, and sweet Eriel takes care of their social media presence.
To dig a little deeper into their personalities, Vice Ganda prepared a trivia game in which she revealed random facts about the Baby Dolls, and whoever was being described had to confirm it by showing off her dance moves.
For starters, we found out that Johaira was ‘pasaway’ in high school. We also discovered that Ina was a sporty girl growing up, having dabbled in track and field, swimming, and basketball. Meanwhile, Jelai and Juby revealed that they learned the art of ‘diskarte’ at a young age by selling food items to their classmates.
The Baby Dolls also opened up about the challenges they faced before finding success. Eriel recalled a time when performance offers were barely coming in, so they had to start looking for individual gigs just to make ends meet. And at one point, they were almost ready to disband.
But as fate would have it, the release of their breakthrough hit and dance craze “Oooh Lala Baby” finally put the girls in the spotlight. And since we’re already talking about it, the girls were asked which celebrity they’d give their ‘giling’ moves to, borrowing a line from their infectious song.
For Jelai, her ‘giling’ moves are reserved for Darren Espanto, while Eriel has her eyes on River Joseph. Juby, meanwhile, picked Donny Pangilinan, and Ina chose Adie. Arianne and Chole get butterflies over Joseph Marco and James Reid, respectively. But perhaps the most visibly ‘kilig’ of them all was Johaira, who couldn’t contain her excitement when she named Brent Manalo as her celebrity crush.
The Baby Dolls weren’t spared from the “Deep Truth” segment, where they had to read out a statement for Vice Ganda and the Geng Gang, composed of Vice Maristela, Divine Tetay, and Verna Periwinkle, to judge as either legit or lie.
The statement was, “May nag-message na sikat na rapper sa isa sa amin.” Yup, that was ‘trot,’ and the recipient of that intriguing DM was Juby, the ‘visual’ of the group.
According to Juby, the rapper casually greeted her with a “hi” through a private message. Curious, she checked his profile and discovered that he was already following her account, so she decided to follow him back. The rapper then sent her a heart emoji, but Juby never replied. Apparently, the unanswered message was enough for him to hit the unfollow button, so Juby did the same.
Since Vice and the Geng Gang correctly guessed that the statement was true, the Baby Dolls had to face the punishment by sticking their hands inside a mystery box and identify the hidden object.
