Prince Harry shares reasons behind family’s decision to return to the UK
Prince Harry opened up about the reasons behind his family’s decision to move back to the United Kingdom after living in the United States.
In a recent interview with GQ’s Zach Baron, the Duke of Sussex shared that giving his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the opportunity to attend a British school was among the main reasons for their return.
“Opportunities for the family. Being able to put the kids in a British school has meant a lot to me. I didn’t know how important it was to me,” he said.
Harry shared that his children have been enjoying their new school and the experiences that come with living in a different country.
“I always thought it was gonna be something that I would try and do or that we would try and do, but now they’ve been in school for two weeks. They’re loving it, and it’s just giving them a whole different experience,” he shared.
The Duke of Sussex also emphasized the importance of exposing his children to different cultures at an early age.
“Don’t worry, I’m not criticizing American schools. But I think for kids at 7 and 5 to be able to have that comparison and to have two completely different cultural experiences is so important today,” he stated.
Aside from his children’s education, Harry shared that being closer to his family was another reason behind their decision to return to the UK.
“To be back closer to my family and to be back on UK soil for longer than a few days or a week here or there,” the royal said.
When asked how it felt to be back in the UK, Harry shared that reconnecting with friends and family has also helped his children settle into their new environment.
“It’s been nice to be close to friends, family, friends and friends and their children as well, to be able to have endless playdates to really, like, help our kids settle in,” he said.
