Knowing that Gloria (Julia Montes) is still upset with him —having placed his pillow and blanket on the floor the night before to hint that he was not welcome to sleep beside her—Gabo (Coco Martin) wakes up early the next morning to buy ingredients and prepare breakfast for the whole family in an effort to make amends.

While setting the dining table and waiting for Gloria to wake up, Gabo’s family expresses their hope that the two will finally patch things up, especially since they are the ones who bring life and joy to the household. Gabo assures them he will do everything it takes to reconcile, which delights them.

As soon as Gloria steps out of the bedroom, Mameng enthusiastically tells her that Gabo has cooked a feast for her. Gabo then happily presents her with a bouquet of squash blossoms he personally picked from their neighbor’s garden, only to be rebuffed by Gloria as she brushes past him to the bathroom. Inside, Gloria imagines telling Gabo, “Anong akala mo? Makukuha mo ako

sa paluto-luto mo at sa pagkuha mo ng bulaklak sa kapitbahay? Manigas ka!” (What do you think? You can win me over just by cooking and picking flowers from the neighbor? No way!)

Meanwhile, Gabo becomes deeply dejected by the rejection, sighing, “Mukhang ayaw talaga akong patawarin ng asawa ko.” (It looks like my wife really doesn’t want to forgive me.)
