Eric Bauza, the voice actor behind iconic Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at the age of 46, his family announced Monday.

Bauza, a Canadian of Filipino descent, “passed away suddenly,” his family said in a statement posted on Instagram, adding that further details would be shared later.

Trade outlet Variety reported that Bauza died at home as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

A prolific voice actor, Bauza worked with major studios, including Cartoon Network, Disney and DreamWorks. He was best known, however, for voicing iconic characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in Warner Bros.’ “Looney Tunes” franchise.

He has also won three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards for his work.

More recently, Bauza was credited with voicing General Button Wutton and Sarangay in DreamWorks’ “Forgotten Island,” an animated film featuring creatures from Philippine mythology.
