Promising podcasts: Spotify unveils new batch of RADAR Creators
Photos courtesy of SpotifySpotify unveiled Tuesday its new batch of promising podcasters and content creators, including shows hosted by beauty queen-turned-actress Kylie Versoza and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Vince Maristela.
This is part of the second year of RADAR Creators, a program by the streaming giant that highlights emerging local podcasters and content creators.
“The first year of RADAR Creators Philippines showed how far Filipino podcasts can travel when creators have the right support, from new audiences at home to Filipino communities around the world,” said Carl Zuzarte, head of studios at Spotify Southeast Asia.
“Through RADAR, we’re committed to helping Filipino creators develop their craft and grow the communities around their shows. With video podcasts growing fastest among homegrown shows, we’re excited to back a new wave of voices bringing Filipino stories to life on video,” Zuzarte said.
This year’s batch of RADAR Creators include Versoza, host of “Almost Honest,” which Spotify described as a show that “serves up unfiltered girl talk and candid conversations on modern womanhood — from love and relationships to careers, business, ambition, and everything in between.”

Another show, “KadaKwento Podcast,” features “conversations among friends,” hosted by artists Berghy Nulud, Tiny Montana, Kris Delano and Maricar Lo.
Fans of creepy podcasts can tune into Camille Peng’s “Panaghoy,” which uncovers “unexplained encounters and eerie tales rooted in the Philippines’ fiction to historical moments, where fact and folklore blur into stories that linger in the dark.”

Celebrities and friends Vince Maristela, Cheska Fausto, Sean Lucas, Thea Astley and Jeff Moses host “TRGGRD!,” which tackles popular and internet culture.
Finally, “Unsa’y Cheka sa Parlor” features hosts Lyle Go and Shane Ayong as they recreate the feel of a Cebuano salon, talking about everything under the sun.
